Most Indonesian factories still rely on monthly or quarterly grab samples to prove wastewater compliance. A single sample at 10 AM on a Tuesday says nothing about what happened at 3 AM during a process upset, or during the weekend when nobody was watching.

SPARING (Sistem Informasi Pemantauan Air Limbah Industri secara Kontinu) is KLHK's continuous wastewater monitoring framework. Every industrial discharge point above the permitted threshold must stream water quality data. COD, BOD, TSS, pH, temperature, flow, on a sub-hourly cadence.

MUSA's wastewater monitoring program covers the full chain: submersible or flow-through sensors at each outfall, edge logging with the MUSA Integrator, automated SPARING submission, and a live water balance in MUSA View. Your WWTP operator, your HSE manager, and the regulator all see the same data.

Chemical Oxygen Demand, the primary compliance parameter for most industrial permits.

BOD₅

Biochemical Oxygen Demand 5-day test, tracked continuously via correlation models.

TSS

Total Suspended Solids, turbidity-based continuous measurement with periodic lab correlation.

pH

Continuous pH monitoring, critical for both compliance and treatment process control.

Temperature

Discharge temperature, required parameter and key indicator of process upsets.

Flow

Volumetric flow rate, converts concentration to mass load for the regulator.

DO

Dissolved Oxygen, treatment process indicator; low DO means biological treatment is struggling.

Conductivity / TDS

Total Dissolved Solids, early warning for salt intrusion or process contamination.
